Pat Bullen-
August 14th 2009 -
The weather was kinder than expected. Not too hot and the rain, when it came, was light and soon past.
Pat worked on regardless while her sons continued to cut wood and bring it to her.
Gradually, despite the weather, the circle began to take shape.

The circle becomes stronger and begins to thicken.
Eventually Pat wove a screen of willow withies to cover the rather ugly, but necessary, supporting frame.

As the day drew on though the skies darkened. Pat worked until long after the park and house had closed for the night and then made her weary way home in the growing gloom.
But, after a quick meal, she was back out again, this time to work in the Old Laundry, the largest of the three indoor exhibition spaces made available for her by the National Trust.
This is Page One of the story of the piece of land art called the ‘Celtic Circle’. The story continues here . . . on Page Two.
