Pat Bullen-Whatling BA (Hons) Fine Art

Hi, I was born in England but married a Welshman and came home to live and work as a professional artist in Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire, West Wales from 1981. From 2006 to 2009 I studied for and successfully completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art, with Honours.

My work is eclectic and wide ranging but I especially delight in bringing the unseen in nature into sharp focus, especially in my studies of bark and lichens. Although these images may be unfamiliar to many they are, in fact, accurate reproductions of what nature almost hides from us.

I've also worked several times with the National Trust in Wales; running willow workshops (large-scale outdoor pieces) and producing a piece of outdoor land-art, a Celtic Circle . . .

for the grounds of the National Trust property, Newton House, Parc Dinefwr Park, Llandeilo (as well as holding a twelve day, one-women exhibition there, 670 visitors) and I’ve produced another piece of open-air art for Carmarthen Council, to stand in the town of Carmarthen itself.

I hold several exhibitions each year and I'm a member of a cooperative of artists who, together, own and run the prestigious King Street Gallery, Carmarthen in West Wales.

After all these years I grow ever more passionate about my work - and I hope you will too.
